The AOS is in town.

The Australian Open of Surfing commenced on Saturday with some fine junior surfing in the smallish conditions. Today the swell has picked up considerably from the east but so has the wind. It is powering at 20 knots from the east. This should maintain the swell size, if not build it slightly. As I write at home I can still taste the salt spray on my lips. The junky conditions have made it ideal for the pros to launch and produce some spectacular surfing. The free surfing before the comp is always the best. Hopefully this swell will stick around. If it does we will see some great surfing during the comp. Have a great Mundee.
