Blind surfer Derek Rabelo

Just imagine if you were blind… horrible.  Just imagine if you tried to surf blind, got to your feet and pulled a few turns.  That would be amazing.  Things to consider, when do you duck dive, when do you know there is a wave coming,  when do you start to paddle and when do you get to your feet.  I had the humbling experience this morning to take a few pics of Derek Rabelo surfing the Northern Beaches.  This guy has surfed Pipe.  Ponder that…

If you saw the local Manly Daily yesterday there was a short story of Shelly, a sea turtle that is recuperating at Manly Sea Life Sanctuary.  Shelly will be released soon and they are calling for donations for a satellite tag ($3000) to fixed to her so they can track her movements.  I donated $200 which were the profits from the Powerlinez Element Surfboard raffle I held recently.  To follow the movements of rescued and tagged turtles, visit turtle watch.org.au.  Have a good one.
